The player that Jordan Martinook is oft compared to is Tobias Rieder due to the way they both entered the regular roster.

Both were unheralded before their specific rookie camps began, and both ultimately made the team and stuck with it the whole way through.

For Rieder, now in his second season, the growth from 2014-15 to 2015-16 has been prominent.

More from Coyotes News

The young winger managed just 21 points in 72 games for the Arizona Coyotes in his first season.

This season the forward has 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points in just 49 games. It’s possible that Rieder could reach the 50-point plateau and the 20-goal plateau this season, which would be quite incredible considering where he started at the beginning of the 2014 season.

On top of his improved scoring contribution, Rieder ranks second on the team in 5v5 Corsi For percentage at 50.7%.

Tobi drives play to the opposing net when he’s on the ice, and right now that’s a quality that the Arizona Coyotes have in short supply.
