No Coyotes fans it was not a dream. The Arizona Coyotes did in fact win a game last night, and score multiple goals for the first time all season. The Arizona Coyotes won 4-1 last night against the Vegas Golden Knights, and if you did not check out our instant reaction following the win please do!

There were a lot of great storylines to follow last night. Nick Schmaltz scored a goal, and so did Niklas Hjalmarsson. Big day for the ex-Chicago Blackhawks on the Coyotes team I guess. The penalty kill looked great again and the only downside was the power play.

Getting pucks into the zone and setting up the power play seems to be the biggest issue for the ‘Yotes. I want to say the last power play opportunity in the third period only had one shot on goal. Now obviously they were playing keep away and trying to drain the clock at that time but still. You are not going to win a lot of games if you can not get the power play going.

Some good news: Barrett Hayton made his NHL debut. Hayton, a former first round pick from the Arizona Coyotes, looked great in his debut and provided the team the spark they needed to win.

I’m looking forward to see what the Coyotes do with Hayton now. His line was really effective last night and deserves another chance to produce.
